After finalizing our Preliminary Design Presentation (PDP), our team moved ahead to initiate the procurement of essential components. Our initial purchase included gloves, power banks, potentiometers, microcontrollers, and holders. Overseeing the procurement process, I successfully managed the acquisition, with all parts delivered except for the motors.
Realizing the necessity for additional equipment like sensors and VR headsets to kickstart our VR testing, we recognized the significance of securing grants. Fortunately, Ben obtained a Quest 2 headset from one of his professors, offering a valuable asset should we face challenges in securing project funding.
To streamline our efforts, we divided tasks among the team members: Arash is responsible for drafting the grant application text, Ben is engaging with the professor who lent the Quest 2 for potential grant opportunities, Tommy is exploring additional grant possibilities through his network of professors, and I am focused on assessing the received parts, completing grant applications, and ensuring updates to our project blogs on the website.
